Line Adam: Composition, flute and piano
Already as a fifteen year old girl Line receives the first price at the conservatory. After receiving this price she wants to concentrate on leading orchest and playing organ and piano.
Line’s compositions are daring, tempestuous, nostalgic. Her musical universe shows us a very sensitive oeuvre that appears simple, but is in essence meticulously elaborated. Line Adam has also written film music for William Z, Les gens pressés sont déjà morts, Ferdinando, Harry Bogart, Water and the Haymoller brothers (DN), Chang (USA), Women and development (D), La solidarité mon Cul (FR, B), La louve (FR)… She also leads the polyfonous singer group I canta Storia and is writing at the moment arrangements for horns and solo singers for the opera « La Dame de Pique » of Tchaïkovski.

In 2002 the young women of the Quatuor Thaïs met each other at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. They decided to unite their forces and founded the string quartet Quatuor Thaïs. After following a master class with Quatuor Alban Berg, they improved their musical skills with the help of Quatuor Danel and Quatuor Turner. The qualities and the enthousiasm of this string quartet has been appreciated a lot in Belgium, France and Luxemburg, where the group has been invited at many festivals (such as Eté Mosan, Lasne, Midis-Minimes, Saintes en France, Ostbelgien Festival, Shubertiades Luxembourg, ...). They have been playing their music at acknowledged places as the Paleis voor Schone Kunsten, Flagey, the royal palace, Salle Philharmonique in Liège, … The Thaïs quartet had the honour to play with well known musicians as Boyan Vodenitcharov and Daniel Blumenthal. After several live recordings for Musiq3, VRT and RTBF, Quatuor Thaïs recorded in 2005 their first CD, based on the music of André-Ernest-Modeste Grétry. Their wide musical universe made them share the stage with jazz musicians as Steve Houben, Charles Loos, Maurane and Diederik Wissels.
